History

History

The founder of the firm Mr. Vincent P. McMullin, Solicitor, commenced practice in around the year 1923 at Donegal Street, Ballybofey, County Donegal.   At the beginning of 1982 the firm was still of relatively small size with the same single office in Ballybofey and just five Solicitors and a staff of approximately ten. In the following fifteen year period up to 1997 the firm expanded significantly with the opening of new offices in Letterkenny and Ballyshannon following on from the acquisition of three separate practices W.T. McMenamin & Son (Ballybofey - 1982) Ward & Co. (Raphoe - 1984) and Brittons (Ballyshannon - 1992). Retired Partners Peter Murphy and Eunan T. McMullin were key movers in this development phase as was Raymond O'Neill who joined the firm following the incorporation of his practice (Ward & Co.) in 1984.

In the period since 1997 the firm has continued to grow with admission of new partners and the move into Northern Ireland by the opening of an office in L'Derry following the acquisition of the practice T. E. W. Huey and Co. in 2006.  The firm has also acquired office premises in the Capel Building in Dublin City Centre to better facilitate clients based or having business in Dublin.
